Gameplay
Set up the game
- Remove the Exploding Kitten cards from the deck equal to the number of players, and one Defuse card for each player.
- Shuffle the remaining deck of cards, including the remaining Exploding Kitten cards.
- Deal each player a hand of cards, with each player receiving one Defuse card.
Take turns and play cards
- The game is played in clockwise order. On your turn, play any number of cards from your hand.
- The cards you play can help you avoid drawing an Exploding Kitten card, attack other players, or manipulate the deck.
- Be strategic and consider the cards you have, as well as the cards played by other players.
Draw a card
- After playing your cards, end your turn by drawing a card from the deck.
- If you draw an Exploding Kitten card, you’re in trouble! But fear not, if you have a Defuse card in your hand, you can use it to defuse the kitten and avoid elimination.
Use special cards and actions
- Throughout the game, you’ll encounter special cards with unique abilities.
- These cards allow you to skip turns, peek at the top cards of the deck, steal cards from other players, or shuffle the deck, among other actions.
- Utilize these special cards strategically to disrupt your opponents’ plans and increase your chances of survival.
Be the last player standing
- The game continues with players taking turns until only one player remains.
- The last player who hasn’t been eliminated by an Exploding Kitten card is declared the winner.
